New Moon at 7 degrees of Taurus on April 27, 2025

What a powerful New Moon we have on tap to round out this month. A New Moon is whenever the Sun and Moon meet up in the sky. Think of it as two good friends running into each other and catching up. One friend talks about their plan to go on a trip, and the other friend has a feeling of fate, as they have made similar arrangements to go to the same place. A creative spark has been lit. Something has been seeded. We won't see the fruition of that moment for sometime to come, but something wants to germinate and develop.

With this lunation being in the earthy sign of Taurus, you want something tangible--something you can taste, touch, and feel. Venus rules the sign of Taurus, and here Venus craves something sensual and is in search of something physical and pleasurable. Look to the house with Taurus on it's cusp. What activities are related to this house? If it's the 7th you may crave some alone time with a loved one. If it's in the 1st you may crave a shopping spree or some decadent meal with loved ones. If it's the 9th, you may yearn for a vacation in some exotic place, so start dreaming. Vision boards is a great way to use this energy. It's a great time to get your hands dirty--weed/plant a garden, handpaint, make some bread, make something from scratch. Revel in the process of creating.

Venus has been traveling in the sky with Saturn (but separating at the time of this New Moon) bringing a sober, stoic look at some area of your life. Venus has had a very interesting retrograde period with Saturn, Neptune, and Mercury. What have you learned over the years? Saturn reminds us that maturity often brings wisdom. What information has come to light that may have needed to be translated or rearticulated? Mercury is a trickster, so it wouldn't be surprising if what you thought you meant isn't what you said. Ha, you get the gist. Have you been in a fog? Or have you had your head buried in the sand? Neptune can make everything take on a dream-like appearance, and maybe now we can see something a bit more clearly.

Not only do we have this special moment of incubation, but this New Moon squares Mars in Leo and Pluto in Aquarius, creating what's called a T-Square. This is like the tension created when using a bow and arrow. The string becomes taut, causing some friction, and helps propel the arrow towards it's destination. That energy will be zooming out into the open area where Scorpio resides. This energy can bring some passion and competition (Mars) to whatever new idea you have. There are also major power (Pluto) dynamics playing out, which may make you feel like you're being steamrolled or it could feel like you need to have a face off with someone who is throwing their weight around. What do you want to do about it? What choices do you have?

Taurus is a fixed earth sign, so we may find we need some of the stubborn resilience connected to this sign. I've never worked with a bull before, but I don't think you can get it to do what you want it to, not in any easy way. We have several images of matadors and people in the street egging, stabbing, and "bull"ying the bulls into some kind of action. We don't have to look far for the imagery connected with sharp objects--Mars holds that energy. When we are activated we may go charging forward without thought. Are you running away from some painful experience? If you're being hurt in any real and physical way, then please run to the nearest safe place and get the help you need. However, if this is metaphorical, then sometimes the best thing you can do is ask yourself, "what is underneath this pain?" Is our stubborness helping or hurting? Defiance may be what is called for. Getting out of a rut could also be the action being triggered. Where is the urgency coming from? Remeber that Venus has to do with value, beauty, and relationships. What do you value? Who do you value? Is there a conflict between the two? This is a great time for an evaluation. Assess what is worth your time, effort, and energy. If something is out of sync, be willing to cut ties with it.
